Weather

is the state of the atmosphere, describing, for example, the degree to which it is hot or cold, wet or dry, calm or stormy, clear or cloudy.

That is an overwhelming definition from Wikipedia. What does it mean?

Weather is simply what’s outside your window. Is it cold? Sunny? Windy? Or maybe snow is falling? To know about the weather at your location, you can use a weather app or website, listen to a weather forecast on Radio or watch it after news on TV. An example can be seen here or here.

Weather is a description of conditions outside – temperature, humidity, wind speed and direction, and many other metrics.

The key to remember is that weather shows conditions at a certain point of time – at 13.45 today, tomorrow morning, last Thursday at 19.35.

However, climate shows us averaged weather over a long period of time.

It is important to see the difference between climate and weather.

Interesting fact – in the USA there is dedicated a TV and Radio channel for weather called “The Weather Channel”.
